In over my head

Dave was playing Jax 2 on the PS2. He couldn't execute a complicated 'running jump' move so he passed the controller to me. I fell half a dozen additional times before Dave walked out saying, "I'm going to get one of the teenagers."

Notice I haven't posted any pics for a while?

My digital camera broke when we went to see Mark's parents last month and I haven't had a chance to replace it. I feel worse than naked without it. Mommies need cameras!!

Here we go again

Katie begins the driving portion of her driver's education class tomorrow. She's nervous about being behind the wheel for the first time, but excited too. I think she will be a very good driver, and it's just in time since she doesn't want to go anywhere with me these days!

This month has been busy (and hot)

Mark pulled his back playing softball so he had to rest it for a week before he could play again.

Record temperatures were bad enough, but then the upstairs A/C had to conk out. It was only one night of misery, but not one we wish to repeat. (Mark was the only one who could sleep downstairs; the rest of us are creatures of habit who returned to our beds despite the heat - and naturally did NOT sleep well.)

Claire has soccer playoffs this weekend. She had a good time, but is happy to have her trophy and be done with the season.

Dave graduated from pre-K Thursday. Katie finished 9th grade on Wednesday. Matt finished 11th grade on Monday. Claire will finish 2nd grade at the end of June. We celebrated by getting a hamster. He is super cute and his name is Vinny (Matt named him after a guy from Jersey Shore).

I'd hoped the rest of the month would be more relaxing, but with 4 of us at home all day I definitely have my work cut out for me. I will try to post more regardless!

Dave has a unique perspective

"Mom, Mom!  I hit my head on the stairs.  Do you want to see where?"

I thought he would point at his skull, but my 5-year-old led me down 15 stairs and gestured excitedly toward the banister.

"See?  Right here."

I decided to play along as he grabbed at his head (as if I care about the stairs he has already nearly destroyed with the aforementioned head), "Well, how did that happen?"

His shoulders slumped and he said honestly, "I just didn't see it there."
