After 2 months of doing without, we have a new microwave oven

The Kenmore over-the-range that was here when we bought the house lasted 12+ years so we purchased another one from Sears. The six of us use it to reheat things constantly so I am interested to see if we can make this one last too. After firing up the oven for long periods of time all summer, I certainly hope so!

In NC, kids use booster seats in cars until age 8 or 80 lbs (I encourage the latter)

I made root beer floats tonight for the little kids. 60-lb Dave said earnestly "I need to double up on the root beer floats so I can get out of my booster seat."

They always want to grow up faster!

It does seem that way sometimes

Dave, wake up buddy. It's time for school.

(Him protesting loudly): But I just got here!

Build it and they will come (glare from window, deer are real)

Dave: What do you call that thing where you think you're sick every day but you aren't?

Me: Hypochondria.

Dave: I'm pretty sure I have that.

Me: I've thought that before too, but you're going to live.

Dave: Okay.

First of many, I hope

Today was important. Matt enjoyed his first day of college at Wake Tech (he has 4 classes, 13 semester hours), actually did his homework, and admitted he was happy to be there.

Claire doesn't yet pronounce hallelujah correctly in church so let us say it as she would (before she too conforms to the norm), "halleyulah!"

May Matt continue to feel blessed to be in school and may Claire continue to be my spiritual buddy. Then we may have a shot at this.

It never ends

I'm 45. I have been on my own for 25 years (versus 20 years at home). What have I figured out? There is always more to learn. Even Big Dave keeps chiming in with facts from his 2nd grade classroom that I never knew. Maybe it will keep me young...

I can admit it; he's finally right.

At least the outside of my house is completely clean

Had the vinyl siding of the house pressure washed this morning, the mold is GONE! Could have done before and after pics, but opted not to disgust innocent bystanders. Anyway, we're happy with the results. Only one person came out from 'Apex Pressure Washing And Gutter Cleaning', but that person *Terry* did the work of 4 men and stayed until the job was done. More than that, he cleaned our little sidewalk just for the heck of it - much to Mark's delight. Very highly recommended and you know I am too lazy (I mean busy) to write reviews.
