Dave was wheezing for 2 days so I took him to Rex Urgent Care in Cary, only to be diagnosed again with "he's fine, Mama." He really was, O2 saturations were 99% and he has never had even a hint of respiratory difficulty during his delightfully sturdy life. Phew. They said he has a bit of a viral chest cold (audible), but no cause for concern and not attributable to his seasonal allergies. I'll bet he picked it up on the charter bus last week while attending a field trip to the NC Zoo, now that I think about it, but he enjoyed every minute and brought home a huge stuffed snake as a souvenir, my fave. He is very proud and has been carrying it around the house.
One would think "false alarms" would drop off by the 4th kid, but nope.
I'd be fearful of being banned from that urgent care if we ask them to check the kids' ears or lung sounds too much, but our copay alone is $40 so they're happy to see us "anytime!" It's good they are there. Our urgent care in Apex was already closing as we arrived at 3:46 pm, and the ER here is wonderfully convenient, but they charge 5x what you'd expect when you get the bill (after insurance). I wish I was mercenary enough to have built it -- I mean altruistic.
