I always pray for home and hearth.
Mark went deep sea fishing with friends for a few days and I finally went back to church this weekend for the first time since Danny died. It has been 5 months but it was still super hard -- totally up hill, but I did it and was proud.
Had to take an easier route and attend the Catholic Mass at the closer St. Mary Magdalene Church in Apex (our parish is in Cary). Luckily lightning didn't strike the gymnasium during the service so I'm guessing we're still in His good graces, but I try not to push it.
Meanwhile Matt returned on Sunday from his weekend trip to an NC beach. He flashed a skydiving certificate that he received for $200; all he had to do was jump out of a plane. I'm assuming it was tandem, but Matt didn't tell us he was doing it beforehand so I'm hurt.
I embrace Matthew's adventurous spirit, but only if he is mature enough to accept the consequences of his actions.
Mark is totally (emotionally and financially) in Matt's court.
I'm afraid for all of us.
