Jill was upstairs excitedly watching two boys throwing a football in our backyard. I found Jack downstairs doing the same. (This is his "bug watching" stool.)

It's always nice to see the kids again when I return to a classroom
A first grader told me a few months ago that I was her best friend. I might have forgotten eventually, but today she presented this with the same words. These kids know how to get to me. One of the 7th graders asked last year if I'd adopt her and I said sure. Ran into her last week while picking Claire up from a band performance and she said "Hi Mom!" Teachers work hard, but it's certainly rewarding.

Surreal
Just attended a 1-hour dementia presentation by a hospice nurse. Not one of the residents had any idea they were the residents being discussed, including Pat. It's a blessing though. All she's thinking about is going to prom again in May. She said I should bring my son since I "don't have a boyfriend."

Jack back in the big bed with all the blankets
He is favoring the injured paw, holding it up more than I'd like, but no longer "knuckling it" - walking with it upside down. I'll take it. Have a good healing sleep, big guy. (Whiskers is sleeping on the right making a triangle with him and Jill.)
