Sore throat, chills, low-grade temp of 99.7 mostly. The headache and fatigue have been the worst of it, but I think “mild” is a fair way to describe it considering reports of what others have experienced. We really don’t know if it’s a garden-variety virus or covid-19 because I’m not in the NBA and I absolutely want to save the available tests for healthcare workers, but my cooperating teacher has encouraged me to rest after my doctor’s office said to stay home unless things escalate. One of our freshman kiddos spent March 6 to March 9 (teacher workday) in New York City which is a hot spot for infection. Another kid just spent a week of early March skiing in Colorado, another Petri dish. I rewatched the movie Contagion ( took me 3 days to finish because I’m sick); it nailed so many salient points regarding transmission. Stay home. I feel like if we’d had one more week of lead time before school was canceled I wouldn’t be ill.
